DIAGNOSTICS IN STRUCTURAL RETROFIT AND ASSESSMENT OF HISTORIC AND ARTISTIC BUILDINGS
Structural diagnostics used in historic buildings provides a scientific answer for all the problematic which an engineer is called to solve. Such approach allows to drastically reducing the number of possible design solutions, studying in details only the ones that have been diagnosed to be the critical ones, optimizing costs and time, providing the most tailored solution to a particular structural problem.

Diagnostics intervene in structural retrofit in three phases:
  • “Awareness” phase necessary for the design of the retrofit solution

  • “Control” phase during the execution of the work

  • “Proof” phase at the termination of the works
